This play is inspired by events documented in the John Vaillant book The Golden Spruce about the felling of the sacred Golden Spruce tree by Grant Hadwin. Xander and Aura are two young environmentalists who journey to Haida Gwaii to perform a ceremony which will make amends for Hadwin's deed and turn Xander into a shaman.
Unfortunately this dark drama is a confusing mess. It seems to consist mostly of Xander ranting and raging while Aura cowers.
